Hi guys!   Pardon the intrusion, but one of the ladies on the mainboard has posted a question I thought one of you MIGHT be able to answer about swollen testicles and adema.   I didn't want to suggest she post here lol....but thought if you had the inclination you could assist with this. http://obesityhelp.com/forums/amos/a,messageboard/action,rep lies/board_id,4856/cat_id,4456/topic_id,3224419/ Thanks if you can/do, ~Tooter

I'm not sure about the adema.  But I do know that historically around my house I've suffered from swollen testicles when I've said the wrong thing to my significant other.  OUCH!  Darn it, come to think of it, I've had swollen testicles on a regular basis.....humm, I wonder what that means???? CF

my best assumption is that it is edema.  sounds like extretme edema. super morbidly obese people tend to have edema anyway and I think that in this case his swelling just progressed to the point where it just started to accumulate in his scrotum. the pain would be from pressure on the testicles.  i am surprised they don't drain the fluid.  I once or twice have had epididymitis which is an infection in a certain part of the testicle, but there is minimal swelling with that even though the pain is severe.  I hope this helps.

Hi Guys, Knock-knock, pardon my intrustion as well ...... I know some of you were keeping a note on this and I thought you might be interested in what may be the non-medical conclusion. The entire thread is here incase you would like to read it: http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/amos/a,messageboard/action ,replies/board_id,4856/cat_id,4456/topic_id,3224419/page,1/# 24862142 Here is my vote ... There's a good chance it's being caused by HYDROPERITONEUM, better known as ASCITES.

Ascites is fluid in the abdomen from leaking organs and organ failure. The patient will have swollen legs and unfortunately the scrotum can swell with fluid as well. It can be drained but it will fill again within a short time from the fluid in the abdomen which is being produced (literally) by the quarts.

I have seen this a few times in the field, one male had scrotal swelling the size of a large football. Swelling also happens in women, the labia will swell quite large but they don't compain of the pain. The ascites will cause the abdomen to become very distended, they can bruise very easily and the patients extremities will be swollen but with the extremely MO everything is distorted so it isn't easy to distinguish. Thank you, BYE
