Snoring

Hey Guys, the wife just got approved for surgery has a date of April 5th. I got a question for the WLS Veterns. She has a bad snoring problem, will that get better after the weight loss? Lamont

Lamont, does she just snore or does she have sleep apnea where she stops breathing many times in the night?  Very important to know that.  They will not do the surgery if she has apnea and it is untreated because her oxygen levels will be too low. To answer your question though, yes the snoring will improve but not overnight.  (sorry, pun not intended).  It will take awhile, but as she loses weight that should help. Greg

Lamont,   First of all you need to be politically correct.  Women do not snore!… sometimes they just “sleep loudly”.  That is what I used to tell Mrs. G or I would get told to sleep on the couch if I didn’t like it. The snoring will get much better as the pounds disappear.  Mrs. G has lost about 40 pounds in the past year (by diet alone) and does not “sleep loudly” anymore.  I’ve lost over a hundred pounds and she says I haven’t kept her awake with my snoring in a long time.

My obstructive sleep apnea is almost gone, which was causing my snoring pre-BiPAP, so it worked for me! Good to see you again, Lamont!  And congrats to the wife.

Mine has completely gone away according to my wife :)
