I'm making a TOO BIG Shrine!
Hello all....
like many here, my clothes are too big for me - and probably also like most of you, I'm wearing pants or shirts that are like decades old or I drop into Walmart to pick up a smaller size every month or so.
and the clothes that are now too big for me?
I'm making a "shrine" of all of them...
yup, that's right....I pile up the clothes, all neatly cleaned and folded in the corner of my bedroom... Tshirts, sweat pants, jeans, slacks, golf shirts, sport coats, dockers...all of them now are neatly stacked one on top of the other....
the pile is now at 5' 4" and I expect it to hit my own height of 5' 11" within a month or so.
yup, that's right, I'm building my own "shrine" tower of clothes that no longer fit, and when I'm at goal, I'm gonna bag them all and drop same into a local bin for our GoodWill society that puts them out in their stores for others to use for free.
and watching that stack of clothes "grow" is pretty cool....

That is a great idea. Take some pics when it's done.
I just filled 6 or 7 bags of my old clothes and gave then to the New England clothes recycling foundation. Even stuff I had that I saved for when I did lose weight was too big.
I did keep the biggest shirt (4XL) and the biggest pair of jeans (54W 32 L) for my final picture. Down to 2XL shirt and 42W 32L jeans.
Biggest highlight was wearing old football t-shirts from HS. My practice jersey fit like it did in summer camp that year, 1994 and my old jacket fit pretty good too. All my old semi pro game jerseys I can wear bumming around the house now. Really cool.
Thing I hated was getting rid of some of my nice clothes. I have a great courderoy (SP) and wool coat and a Tamp Bay Bucs winter coat I don't wanna get rid of but I will never wear them again.
You have inspired me, I went into the attic and brought down my old Fraternity T-Shirt from college. It is a Large, but I haven't even thought to try it on.

It fits, very comfortably I might add.
Granted it is a bit creepy for an old fart like myself to wear college fraternity gear out in public, but if I need a feel good moment, I'll put it on around the house.
