I disagree that you have to wait a year, my psych evaluation took about 30 minutes, basically they want to make sure your not looney, that you are mentally capable of handling the "shock" of surgery, and that you don't think that by having WLS you'll be America's Next Top Model.    I do agree that there are some WLS patients who should have psych therapy before and after surgery to help them adjust to the changes that rapid weight loss will and does bring, but it shouldn't be used to stop people from going through surgery.  Scott
