well here's my first postop post. Sarah kinda sugarcoated it a bit. I just got out of ICU about three hours ago. I am having some pain around the incisions, but that is t.o be expected. The doctor seems to think my body just didn't react to the stress of surgery that well. I had to have about 5-6 units of blood. My BP was really high along with my blood sugar. It has taken a few days but we have it undercontrol. The doctor thinks I should get to home on saturday. thank god as i can't stand watching any more school closings or any more anna nichole smith stories

5-6 units? Wow, your crit must have dropped or been low to start with. Good that you're outta the ICU now and on your way to getting better.

I hope your feeling better soon.  Take advantage of the good pain medications offered to you in the hospital.  While I was taking those, I didn't feel a thing.

Good to see you are out of ICU.  Things get better from here.  Thanks for the laughs about the news stories getting old.  I remember that.  Fortunately you will forget most of that once you are firmly entrenched on the loser's bench.  Hang in there.  They put me on several insilin shots a day in the hospital because of my blood sugar spiking.  I was diabetic before.  5 weeks later I was off all of my diabetes meds.  IN 8 weeks I was off 4 of 5 meds I was on before surgery.  Sort of like a reverse Nationwide Insurance commercial "life comes at you fast".   By Easter you will be down more than 60lbs and feeling on top of the world.  You jus****ch.
