Anyone trying Creatine for their workouts?
I really hate spending money on suppliments. I think most are bull**** except for protein. but i'm hearing so many good things about creatine. Christopher L. I know you're into this kind of stuff and Dave too. So are any of you using it and is it really making your workouts stronger? I want an honest opinion before I start spending more $$ on suppliments. I'm doing pretty good otherwise if you look at my latest profile pics. I sure would like to keep my strength up and I hear creatine is great for workouts. Thanks in advance.....Carbonblob
yeah Scott, heard of that stuff but it's expensive and then of course there's the follow up stuff. i don't want to be mr. buff anymore or spend that kind of money. i used to take niacin and the no is like that. it just made me burn like crazy and itched liked hell. i have good enough vascularity without taking anything. thanks for the advice.....Carbonblob
I'm an advocate of creatine and glutamine both. Since I've started my regimen with both, I've noticed gains in strength and stamina. I was seeing great results in toning but I was too lean. I had difficulties building muscle mass...since then, I've been pleased with the progress. While my weight has remained virtually the same over the past 9 months, I've experienced increased muscle mass / decreased body fat percentage. The creatine I think has helped with strength gains, but most noticeable is my ability to maintain or increase intensity towards the end of workouts...I'm still spent, but I finish stronger than I ever have. I've deliberately laid off the creatine on a few occasions to see if I could feel a difference and it certainly does for me. I used glutamine before the creatine, and until I started supplementing with both, I did not see the increased muscle mass I was working for. I really thought I'd see more weight gain with the increased muscle mass, but I have to say I'm very comfortable with my weight hovering between 172-175 at 5' 10". I think the money spent on these supplements plus the protein is money well invested.
Thanks!!!!
good catch and thanks for asking. I'm posting like crazy again just to feel normal. tomorrow will be my first day back working and yes, tonight will be my last pill! I feel much better but of course my mind and body have been through hell. it didn't help throwing up all night because i ate a little sugar for valentines day! never do that again! so hopefully i'll be all self absorbed in my work tomorrow and have a good day thinking of something else. thanks for checking in on me........Carbonblob
I forgot to say that BCAA's are really supposed to help and they are included in GNC Men's Sport vitamins, along with some of the fatigue components (all except NADH and CoQ10). They are hard as rocks, though so I grind them in the coffee grinder. A sewer man once told me he sees whole pills in the equipment all of the time, assuming these are from non-WLS people too...I'm sure they would go straight through if I didn't grind them up.
Dave
let me tell you, when i was on pain pills, my poops were as heavy as neutron stars. they broke the toilet, i'm not kidding! anyway, i just bought some creatine but in powder form. i hear the easter type is not as hard on the pouch. something to try next time. i'll start loading today and let you know how it goes......Carbonblob
