Hey Guys,

Quick “YaHoo!” from me…. In the Sunday Weekly Weigh-ins, I’ve consistently been hanging around 184 Since my plastic surgery back in July. Went to my PCP yesterday and stepped on her scales- 180.5!!! I checked mine at home and they read 185:-( So, this morning I had to run by to set an appointment with my Bariatric Doc To speak at an upcoming seminar, And drug my scale into the office- grabbed his nurse-

“Peg, Let’s check this bad-boy out!”

Sure-Nough!!!! the Bariatric scale read 181 and mine read 184.5!!! I re-calibrated that sucker right there!!!! I had done this back about 2 ½ years ago And never thought to check it since….. It’s Crazy how much that little extra 3 to 4 lbs makes!!!! So, you guys who are being ‘driven crazy’ by scales while on the way down, And fighting a stall or plateau? Know that even though it’s not a discouraging “Hit the Wall” problem For old-post-ops at goal, It does Still MATTER!!! I haven’t had such a big weight-related Smile in quite some time!!! Ah, the thrill is still there!!!!! Have a Great One!!  And enjoy the moments…… Best Wishes-

Dx

Dx,  That's awesome! Bet you can't wait until Sunday? I find that even the smallest loss gives me a thrill and I can't wait to report in on the weekly weigh in.  You'll have everyone on the men's board heading down to their doctor's office to check their scales for accuracy.

Day of surgery weight  352
Current weight 250
Total Lost 102
Height 6'3"
BMI 31

Good thinking Dx. My scales drive me crazy. I have 2 that I check against each other & every freaking day they give me different reading. However, the both of them consistently read lower than the Dr.'s scale. I'll stick with mine! Every litlle victory in this battle is sweet.  Jay

I dunno...I'd bet it'd be just my luck that I'd drag that sucka into the Doc's only to find out that HIS was reading heavier than mine!!!   Congrats Dx...

Congrats, Dx!

That is a considerable amount of weight, so really good news. Either way (weight?) you look at it though, your weight has been stable, which at nearly four years out is remarkable. I wonder if at 5 years out, your metabolism "locks in" and keeps you at that weight? For non-ops, they used to say that those who were able to somehow lose and stabilize their weight for five years were then able to keep it off.

(and for the narcissist in me:)

Right now I'm doing cardio to build my "buffer zone". Funny, I know I'm eating too many raw almond slices during the day, but still losing weight. Today is day 20 of continuous cardio and weights.
