Always here for you, CB. As you are for us. One of my favorite movies is Wall Street. I was that brash MBA right out of school doing a bunch of stupid things. Hal Holbrook's character has a line in that movie when they come to arrest Bud Fox (Charlie Sheen). "Bud, I like you....Bud, there comes a time when a man finds himself staring into the abyss....and he sees his reflection, and that time he finds the courage that is the very thing that keeps him from falling into the abyss." For some reason that line has always stuck with me....maybe it is for you now. Who knows. Thank you for your courage. It's an inspiration to all of us. Blessings, Greg

Dude, Fred, CB, You are still the man. You have helped me with your advice and reading your posts on this borad since I had my WLS 9/26/06. I am sorry you reached hooked level but I am also sorry your suffer the pain you do. I am proud of you and admire you keep going and help the rest of us. Realizing and dealing with this latest milestone in your life,...and sharing your heartfelt anguish is all the more inspiring for us to look to and use to rise about our struggles, and we all have struggles. Christ said (1 John 1:8) "if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is inot in us." That pretty much covers everybody in my book. We all goof up occassionally. It takes a brave and forth-right individaul to admit it and try to rise above it. But hat is how we progress and grow and become better people. Fred,...you are a better people irregardless of how you feel about yourself or any portion of your past,...you rose above it and your are still rising. Any time you wanna talk or type or whatever, I'm here for you . Joe [email protected] Col Hts VA (804-526-1817)

CB, the universe has backed up and taken a dump on your house right now. It happens. It suks… And, like everything….This Too shall pass….. Sounds like Fart advice, but it holds for most everything…. Back when I was in my first 6months post-op, and working toward walking… The thing that got me through and kept my spirits up Was knowing that I Could, --- Do my best, or not do Anything… Work my azz off to increase, or just sit in my misery, And no matter which, Tomorrow would still come… Keep making the tomorrow better, even when it suks today….. Keepin’ you in my prayers… Best Wishes- Dx

Hey CB, worrying about everyone else is great and will really help you kick this thing....but don't miss this appointment. It's a fine line. We don't want to focus on our addictions, because it will make them stronger - that's why we need others to reach out to and minister to during the day. But the one thng we can't do is forget to do first things first - and for you right now that is getting the help and encouragement you need regularly and counseling. Please don't let the other issues stop you for doing what you need to do. I know it sounds selfish, but it is not. Many of us got fat or delayed getting with the program because of our concern for others....I'm supporting my wife or g/f, the kids need me, I need to put more hours in on the job because so many lives are depending on me. All very, very good reasons, but they stand in the way of the best and highest priority - getting healthy and staying healthy. We all know this and I know you know this so please excuse the post if this comes off as me telling you something you don't know. To often the very important things in our lives keep us from doing the MOST important things. Better is always the enemy of best. And this is where the faith comes in. We need to trust that God can handle the other things today while we are away to do what is MOST important. For you, that is making progress on this addiction. My favorite definition of faith is very tough for us control freaks like myself to accept most of the time. "Faith is not so much us holding onto God, but simply trusting that He will hold onto us and those we love." In my life I know when I let go and let God and do what I know is MOST important in situations where I have to choose between better and best, He ends up blessing those I care about and taking care of things far better than if I was doing it myself. When I don't, I end up making a mess of things - the wife I stayed to help I get into a nasty fight with, that computer program I was working on crashes, etc.. This is not about ignoring the others, just when those conflicts arise between what is very important and what is MOST important, this is our test of faith - a test we must pass or we will keep coming up against time after time. Hope this helps. I so appreciate your friendship and heart here. I agree with you, the only place I have ever received this type of feedback is at our men's group at church. But that is once a month if I am not traveling. Here with this board we get to give and receive encouragement each and every day as our time allows. Very cool. Have a blessed day!!! Greg
