Hi> I have a problem. It may have been disussed, not sure. I have lost so much weight that I have no meat or fat left on my ass, only skin and bones. It hurts to sit around, even on a chair with a cushion, much less on a wood chair. I can't imagine that there is a solution to this problem. I dread taking any kind of flight on an airplane... or anything which will have me sitting for any lenght of time. I used to sit around browsing on the computer, now I have to hop up every 15 minutes and move around. DavidG

David, Yep, That's a common problem. As that fat burns away, that tail bone and even hip bones are left to poke the 'dickens' out of you. Big pain in the Azz! Fortunately, little by little (nearly imperceptibly) The bones adjust to the new surroundings and stop hurting. It does take a while. I was just a few months over one year out before I noticed one day that it had so greatly improved that it was no longer an issue. Over the next few months, it went away completely. Many report the same slow but sure improvement after reaching a stable weight. Ooouch!!! Right Now, but like most things associated with WLS- It does get better. Hang in there and find some cushy-cushions. Yes, I fly from coast to coast all the time, and Dam!!!! 1st Class has never been SO Worth it. Ask for a blanket and fold that bad-boy and sit on it. That- And I would bring on a sweater just for the purpose of folding it and sitting on it for long flights. Hope you're feeling better soon....It's slow going...but does pass on... Best Wishes- Dx

Me too & probably all of us losers as well. Spine too. WLS surgery's way of making us get up & move our flat (not fat!) asses. A small price to pay! Jay

Hi David, I know the feeling. Actually the airplane is not that bad because of all the positives of fitting in the seat, letting the tray tables come down and having space for your computer AND your gut and having room to spare on the seat belt. I've had two trips so far, getting ready for about 6 more. Unlike those theater chairs or a desk chair, those airline bottoms have that wire type of support so it gives a little more on the bottom (although the back and other sides are 10x worse.) Last trip I was next to a guy in the middle that was 6-4 and 270 - solid muscle. He had lost 25 lbs, I had lost 80. We never could figure out where were going to put that extra 105 lbs if we needed to. Even though mine hurt sometimes, nothing compares for me to my wife looking at me and saying 'where did your butt go? Hon, your butt is gone." Sure beats the alternative. Congrats on being such a loser that you are a pain in the ass!

Hey David... Time for a new area of the gym...squats, lunges, stairs....the only thing that I found that helps is building up the muscle in the butt...it does help a little your brother in pain Russ

Thanks to all for the replies. I figured that was the case. Glad to hear it gets better over time. I also get cold now. I like to Scuba Dive and I am now wearing 2 wet-suits and I still get cold. So much that sometimes I wish the dive would end sooner. When I get back on the boat I am shivering and now take a fleece lined parka on the boat to put on after diving. And I live in a Tropical area where the temperature is rearely below 80f. Plus my wife freezes me at home with the A/C now. I do agree though.... it is "worth it" ! DavidG
