Here's an odd one for y'all. I went to a small forest fire today (a moron burning trash torched a half acre), and came home with a perfectly fine but dusty canoe. The next door neighbor of the moron didn't use it anymore and wanted it gone. I've been wanting a kayak for the exercise, but this'll do. A canoe will also have room for my kd when he visits. I gave her 3 lbs of homegrown pecans in exchange, just because I couldn't take as a freebie... Off to find paddles and life vests as soon as it warms up... I hope it's soon, because NE NC has a forecast of an ice storm Monday night. Carry on.

NC is pretty similar to VA in climate, so it won't be long 'til you can hit the water...er...canoe. Lucky guy, I'm sitting here is 5 feet of snow and missing that 'ol southern weather. Don't miss the ice storms though, with the parked cars sliding sideways off the roads. I can pretty much run with no problem here in this powder - gives you a good foothold. Enjoy, Dave
