Well hello everybody, I am 4 days post op and all is well. The only real downer to my surgery was the gas bubble under my right shoulderthat hurt like a mother!!!!. As soon as I woke up it hurt so bad is broke my cpap mask trying to scream. I then had to suffer through a mask that the hospital gave be that didn't fit as well and left me battling and fighting with the whole time. The only other real hard part was the drain tube OMG!!!!! that thing was in a bad place, like on a nerve or something and bothered me. Hurt worse than a kidney stone when it came out. Face it, I am a puss with pain. My wife and I spent a hour shopping for soft foods for my first two weeks and so far so good. I don't feel hungry at all and have to force (for lack of a better word) to eat. I am trying to drink lots of liquids but dang it makes me gassy LOL. I am down 10lbs already. To the gentleman that keeps replying to my posts about a mens forum. How do I get there? I and trying to figure this site out but it's not real user friendly. Rob aka TBone

To TBone from another Brother Puss. I do not deal with pain very well either. Sounds like you are experiencing the normal. I had so much gas I thought about putting on some anchors so I would not blow myself into outer space. My wife was embarrased everytime we had visitors. Sounds like you are the flight path to sucess with 10lb of weight loss in your first 4 days. What you need to do is get the trombone out and use it to disguise the gas. Take it easy my friend and let us know if you need any help. Dan

I had the same pain after my surgery. If you can believe it, it was the gas pressing up against your diaphram. I had that and the fact that my drain was right under my diaphram so I got a double whammy.

Hey T-Bone, Hang in there, I am only 10 Days post op and only two days ago finally lost the last of my gas pain. I was ready to swear they had left a surgical instrument inside, but it was just gas pain. I am down 37.4# since pre-op consult and ready to become the loser I always knew I could be. Enjoy you journey, and welcome to the Losers Bench! Semper Fidelis!

T-Bone, Glad to meet another wus on pain. LOL I'm pre-op but just reading about some of the guys experiences in here makes me a wus. But, because of what you posted - I'll have two masks with me on my date! Welcome to the Dog-Pound! Bob.
