The Sunday Weekly Weigh-In
Hi Dx and guys,
This is my first posting to the weekly weigh in, but I've been reading them for about 5 months and always look forward to them. They help me keep a modicum of perspective. By modicum I mean a teeny, tiny bit. No matter how much "objective" info and data I get from various sources, my first impulse is "woe am I." For a while I had fears that I was part of an experiment to prove that we don't need surger. I worried that I had only had placebo surgery--hole*****ed in my belly but no actual RNY.
For the last three weeks I've been struggling with a TRAF, a reverse FART. TRAF, to me, stands for Terrible, Ridiculous, Awful, Fiasco. My most recent TRAF was waffling around the high 240s, up a pound, down a half, up, down, no change, down a tiny bit. This was a TRAF because I couldn't claim a genuine plateau or even a puny stall. I was making "progress" by ANY REASONABLE STANDARD. Aye, and there's the rub-- REASONABLE. I am not when it comes to expectations in this realm.
Now, after all that whining, wingeing, and bemoaning, here are the stats proving I'm a fatheaded idiot, but a lucky idiot who lives in a world where WLS is available, who is married to a saint, and who has found a bunch of cyberpals who know that "fatheaded idiots are people too."
Highest weight at PCP: 343 (maybe even 357 according to some old Optifast records)
Signup for WLS surgery: 335
Day of surgery: 317.5
Today's weight: 245
Loss this week: 3.5
Total lost: 98
Lost since surgery: 72.5
These weekly weigh ins are important reminders that Dx is right about plateaus and progress. Thanks everybody.

A Super 3.5 Week!
Glad to have you posting here!
Sorry I missed your arrival on the Board.
I've just finished a month of hectic schedule
And "drive-by" Board activity.
Congratulations for slipping on past the plateau.
Clearly the placebo is working!
