My best friend had Dr. Cohen and she did GREAT!! He was awesome through some rare challenges she faced two years later too! I had Dr Kelly and he was Awesome too and was on rotation when my best friend had her surgery so she got to see him too.

But, here's the thing. Some of us can get through this. I do not expect, nor would I, resort to the RnY or DS. I am happy with my VSG and, with hard work (which is pretty much the standard for any surgery), I will not need a second procedure.

I had my surgery in Feb 2012 with Dr Cohen and my husband just had his surgery last week with Dr Cohen. He is a wonderful surgeon, has a great sense of humor, gets to the point, tells you everything you want to know. Just a great Dr. They all are at the Weight Center.

Thanks Cindy.
What a great story about Dr. Jones. And such a blessing for you. I am so glad he found the cancer. Best of luck on your knee replacement. I will post on here once I am home to let you know how I am doing.
I really appreciate the support!

Terrific! "Break a leg", Darling!
I go to the support meetings as often as i can. I will be taking a break for most of January and maybe February due to an upcoming knee replacement so hopefully we will meet before then!
On another note....Dr. Jones is so experienced and thorough. He spotted the beginning of stomach cancer while he was "in there". He got it all so he saved my life for real! Fortunately it was so small, i only have to be observed for a couple years.

Hi there,
Thanks for your great note. I am so excited to say that my surg is this coming Monday with Dr. Jones. I have lost almost 30lbs thru the pre-op process and so excited to continue on this journey. I really like Dr. Jones dry sense of humor. I am confident I am good hands with him.
I hope to meet you at one of the post op support meetings if you are still going!
Take care!
Diana

Hi, i am late to this party. I have had a tremendous experience at the BI. I had a bypass in Febuary with Dr. Jones as my surgeon. I have to say he has been amazing. Completely responsive, responding to my phone calls and emails himself and not via his PA. He has always been able to fit me into his schedule on short notice when a potential problem has come up. That says a lot for a busy surgeon.
I think by this time you have chosen a surgeon so i can say I think whoever you picked will be great. I think the whole department is amazing.
