Topic: Walk from Obesity!
Ok, so some of us nuts walked 26.2 miles for the Jimmy Fund.... you read about it right here.

Now, in a less intense, but equally important walk, some of us are walking to raise money and awareness of obesity!!!  Please come out and Join Melting Mama's team - the Bariatric Bad Girls.

We had an awesome team last year and I'd love to see a lot of folks return, as well as see some fresh new faces!  We may have gotten smaller but we will always be fighting obesity, some come out and fight WITH US!!

i have attempted some crazy stuff in my day, but this is the first time I set out to walk a marathon in one day AND DO IT!

My butt hurts, I've got some blisters and my chiropractor sounded like he was twisting bubble wrap today when adjusting me (pop pop pop pop pop), and it was SO WORTH IT.

This kind of event may not be for everyone, but it was a great challenge for those of us who did it, and I'm so honored to have walked with Lisa and Kate (and Catherine, in spirit), as well as Kathy and Pammy.

I'm proud of everyone, but it was super inspiring to see Lisa and Kate fight the pain and really dig deep to finish this walk.  You ladies have nothing to prove to ANYONE as far as being tough, having courage, and having heart.  You are amazing!!!!

Catherine, I have no doubt I'd have bawled my eyes ou****ching you cross the finish line.  You are an athlete, woman!  Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something.

So it's the morning of Monday September 13, 2010 and I sit in bed feeling like I can't move. My shoulders ache, the back of my thighs hurt when I look at them and my ankkles / feet are burning. I feel horrable physically ! BUT WE DID IT ! Sue Doucet, Kate McKenney, Catherine Walsh and I did a great community service - raised over $2000.00 (still collecting by the way) to help the Jimmy Fund and PROVED something to ourselves - that only people like those of you on this board can understand - we walked 26.2 miles !!!!!!!

I am so incredably proud of us and am amazed at our accomplishment - which we ALL agree could / would NEVER have happened just 1 year ago !!!!

I hope that you would all consider doing something like this - it gives you immense pride and a sense of accomplishment. I think we were all crying ! But nobody but our little group really understood why !

As a side noe - was very proud of my sister and daughter - who did it for the first time and finished too !

YEAH to the THE BH2O BUNCH !!

Highest (that I know of) 285  Weight when I started the process 277
Night before surgery 263

Hi, nice to meet you. Dr. Jones is my guy, couldn't ask for a better surgeon. He did my gallbladder removal and LapBand in 2005 and just last week he removed my LapBand and did a VSG on me. I just got home on Sat and I'm feeling great.

Which Wed are you going to be there - I have a follow up appointment on 9/22 so I'll be in town around 3.

Your feelings are perfectly normal. This surgery should be thought of like all others - a medical procedure, advised by a highly trained doctor, that is required to sustain life. There really is no other option for a vast number of people (they just haven't left denial long enough to realize it).

You will be fine and you will do great - enjoy today!
