Thanks Carol!

I really appreciate your input about the sleeve. I have done more research on the sleeve. It's definitely the way to go for me. I need to take my meds. I also like the idea of faster recovery time and less complications. My surgeon has been great. He told me if I was his sister, he would perform the sleeve vs the bypass. That was very reassuring to me. Both surgeries have the same outcome. The rest is on me. Just waiting on a surgery date now.

NSV: Even after 2 years I am still amazed and completely in shock when I put on a size medium at Urban Outfitters and it fits perfectly. It's just such a nice feeling and so opposite of how shopping use to be for me. It's crazy how long it takes for our brains to adjust. I forget that I'm little sometimes!

Here are my official two years post op pics. My two year anniversary was on June 22nd but I have been so swarmed with editing that I had no time for my personal pics. In my "before" photo I weighed 311 lbs and in my two year photo I weigh 141 lbs! It has been a crazy two years and I am so blessed to have been able to have this opportunity. I am happy and healthy and living life the way I have always dreamed of! I still cannot believe I weight 141 lbs! 141??? What is that?? I weighed 141lbs in elementary school!!

I know a lot of people have questions for me and the best place to ask/ keep in contact would be my personal WLS group on Facebook. It is a small private group that I have had for a while with just people I know in my personal life who have had surgery but I have recently started accepting everyone into the group. Feel free to check it out Loves! kiss

It was not specifically for bariatric patients. I sent you a PM so we can chat about the program if you have any other questions :)

Do you remember if the surgical unit they put you in was specifically for bariatric patients? I never asked if they were a center of excellence for Bariatric Surgery because I just figured MGH is the best. Now I'm wondering since at my first team meeting today she didn't mention that it was a separate unit, just that we will be in a surgical ward.

I went through the MGH Weight Center, but had Doctor Hutter not Dr. Gee. I've heard great things about all 4 surgeons there. I have to say, I think the surgeons are top notch, but was not overly impressed with their program in general. Feel free to contact me if I can help you anymore!

Hi Bridget,

If you hover over a perso's picture in the list of topics, If they have identified their surgeon, there will be a link to update your surgeon with the words something like:  "Proudly display your surgeon's name"

I am having a lot of trouble with the web site features -  I think it is because I am using a new version of internet explorer.  I actually downloaded Mozilla so I could answer emails and edit some otherwise inaccessible features.

Good luck with your surgery, and weight loss journey.

Thanks so much! I have heard good things about Lahey.  I work for Partners HealthCare and my insurance is partners plus so I have to stay in their network....which is huge but still doesn't cover Lahey.

I met with Dr. Gee and she seemed very intelligent, just no bedside manner whatsoever!

Do you know how I can change the surgeon on my profile?

Thanks again!

Bridget
