unless you've been lifting, twisting or turning and felt it go you should be fine. They use four sutures to tack it down. Chances are there is some swelling there now that is causing it be numb and hard to feel. Don't worry, while you adjust to it being there over the next couple of months you'll bump it on everything (counters, seat belts, pants, etc) and it will be sore.

Enjoy being pain free while it lasts.

Good luck!

Topic: port
I had my lap band surgery a week ago. For a couple of days I felt uncomfortable near the port site. It was pulling sort of and I had a burning sensation. Nothing major. I am concerned now that I do not feel anything in that area, and even if I touch it I cannot make out if the port is there. I would think it is very un common for the port to flip or move this early correct? Maybe I am just over thinking this.

Topic: RE: Protein shakes
Hi, I am a lazy person.  Not like Kate, who is wonderful by the way.  Very helpful.

I drink the Atkins shakes.  You can get them cheaper at Walmart or Target for about $6 a 4 pack.  CVS or Walgreens a about $8.  I like the Milk chocolate delight shake.

The powder I use is Zero Carb Isopure.  I find it the cheapest on naturesbest.com.

Good luck

There is no best kind of shake, it really is all about preference.  Some people drink theirs only with powder and water, which I find disgusting.  Some only drink it with powder and milk.  I did this pre-op but don't dare it post-op.  I make my shakes in the blender with powder, mil**** fruit, puddings (helps to thicken), sugar free syrup ... my shakes end up tasting more like frappes or milkshakes and this is the only way I can drink them.  Try different recipes and doctor them up .... there are a ton of way to drink them.  If you don't like the taste of your protein shakes you are not making them right :)

Best of luck!
This is my favorite:
Neopolitian Shake (like the ice cream!)
1 cup fat free milk
1 scoop vanilla protein poweder
1 tsp unsweetened cocoa + 1 tbsp sugar free chocolate pudding
handful frozen strawberries
blend together for 2 minutes then add ice!
delicious!

Craving pistacio ice cream??
1 cup fat free milk
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
2 tbsp sugar free pistachio pudding
blend w/ ice for 2 minutes

Chocolate Almond
1 cup fat free milk
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
1 tbsp sf choc pudding
1 tsp almond extract
1 handful lightly salted almonds
mix for 2 minutes then add ice

limitless possibilities!!
