Topic: had surgery Wednesday, came home today
Dr. Shikora said everything went well and I feel pretty considering I just had surgery.  So far I haven't had any issues with keeping my fluids and medication down.

They ran out of rooms so i spent Wednesday night in the PACU, didn't get to my room until around 4:00 Thurdsday night, but I ended up with a private room so that was a plus.  Also, after they took my catheter out, I wasn't able to pee so they had to put one back in to drain my bladder.  my nurse had trouble gettting it in and after her second try she had another nurse do it, that wasn't fun at all.  Luckily I've been able to go on my own since then.

I'm happy to be home now and hope the pain doesn't last too long.

Thanks for all of your help so far, I'm sure I'll be asking for more in the future.

Sorry for not responding sooner. Surgery went great, although there were a lot of delays on the hospital's part. I was called about 6:30 p.m.  to come in. Made it in, only to learn of another emergency - it was awesome they kept me informed. Once the OR was free, they had to wait to make sure they had recovery space. The hospital census was through the roof, there were 18 people in ER waiting for beds, etc.

So I got in about 9:30, back to thehotel room about 1:00 a.m. Long night.

Came home yesterday and am now recovering at home. Dealing with some pain, to be expected and all else is well.

Dr. Kim did a great job, once again. She was able to reuse one of the incisions. CJ - I will be praying for you Monday.

I was a little freaked out when they offered me February 9th!!!!!!!!!! But then the doctor reminded them I need to wait because I just went off the pill, I"m ready... but I"m not ready for February 9th LOL    I don't have a gym membership yet, my boyfriend was just checking them out and was thinking we should try Planet Fitness in Walpole because the price was good!   I'd rather not work out at Golds with the "locals" lol and a lot of high school kids, they all get free memberships if they are in school sports.  But yah I'd love to get together after you recover!

Metro West Medical Center in Natick has a good group. It's more of a post-op support group but they have info for pre-ops too. It meets the second Thurs of the month, 6-7:30.
