Do you remember what having it placed was like? Ive read that some docs provide a local anesthetic. Is there pain or just uncomfy??

Oh yeah, I was off the pill about a month before my surgery - it can casue blood clots and other complications so there was no hesitation in stopping pre-op!!  I went back on at the start of my new cycle last week but they say I should use a "backup" to prevent pregnancy since the pill may not be 100% absorbed.   I posted this same subject on the RNY forum and got a huge response... mostly suggesting the Mirena which isn't covered by my insurance but with appeals I think they'd approve it given the fact that they approved my surgery.

I've been on the pill forever myself and it's been great - my cycle is like clockwork. I have a Gyn. appointment in a few weeks and hopefully by then I'll have info on options.

NO BABIES for me (right now anyway)

YAY! You're home!!! Jeeze I think if it could happen, it happened to you huh... not quite the smoothest ride sorry ya had to go thru what ya did, nothing worse than insensitivity of people that should be taking care of ya... I'm a baby when I'm sick and need to be fawned over !

I was completely intimidated by the Jell-O and even today it's still not my fave... I do good with yogurt (sometimes greek), and broth is good too but at the same time, I can't believe how much my taste has changed.

Dunno what your daily fluid goal is but... just keep sipping, ya don't want to become dehydrated!  I got to a point where I'd forget because I just wasn't interested so I set an alarm which was annoying but if I had my sips first I could cancel the alarm and not have to listen to it.

Things are MUCH better now!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It DEFINITELY gets easier every day!!

Sooooooooooo happy for you

I appreciate that kate. I do hope the puffiness eases a bit. I look pregnant. Lol. I am going to try and walk the stairs and driveway today. I feel energetic but dry. Getting a lot of water in is hard. Everyone was right about making sure u get fluids in first. I'm not even hungry and I could care less about who eats in front of me now. CJ was right...the life style change is a struggle but I def can't wait to be under 200. Dr said he'd weigh me on Thursday. Woots. Now I'm going to have some water and go walk a bit. Jello is still tough. Xo.

Help...

I am in need of dress pants and jeans size 14-16, preferably something with a tapered leg.

I will be bringing clothing with me to the Bridgewater meeting at the end of February (providing there is still a meeting happening) and the clothes range from size 24 to 18 or 16.  I have a mix of jeans, pants, sweaters, tops, scrub tops and scrub bottoms.  Most are from what was given to me and there are a few items that I am passing along that I owned and perhaps only got to wear once or twice.  I may even have 2-3 dress pants with tags still on them!

Yay - glad everything went well for the most part. Sorry for all the holes and some crappy bedside manners. I cannot believe your surgeon did that ... appalling!!

You'll be puffy for a few more days ... I hated being full of gas - ugh!!

Let us know if you need anything

I have sizes ranging from 24 down to 18 in dress pants, jeans and tops.  If you want, I can try to bring them to the February Bridgewater meeting.  I was going to bring them to a consignment shop but I never made it and my hubby wants me to get these bags of clothes out of the house.

I can relate to this and have been wondering myself how to deal and I am only 5 months out and  have been at a stall for over 5 weeks because of the eating.  I think this would be a good topic to go over again at the next meeting.
