Topic: RE: BCBS of MA (PPO) Requirements
You guys are great!  Yes, I found out that my COBRA payments for that other insurance I was on was literally the same as my mortgage payment, so I'll be switching to BCBS through my husband's work.
Thank you guys so much for getting back to me!

Topic: RE: Dr. Lautz - Consultation vs Actual Surgery Date
Yeah... it was my insurance.  Of course, I lost my job last Friday and am now switching to my husband insurance, which ironically doesn't require the classes... figures.  I could have had the surgery already!  I'll be in on 3/10 as well, but my appointment is at 2:30p.  Perhaps we could plan to meet in the middle, like 11:30 or something?  I'll just bring a book and relax.  With two kids at home and a babysitter I'd be more than happy to relax somewhere for a little bit.  :)

I'll check in as we get closer to that date!

Topic: RE: I just want to feel NORMAL

Going back to work definitely helped me to feel better.  Sitting at home, especially when recovering from surgery is boring, work makes me feel useful again.
I'm having the same issue with getting liquids in, I can usually do about 54oz, but haven't met the 64 oz. goal yet.
Try to keep your chin up, I'm sure things will improve for you once you get back into the routine of life again.
Congrats on the weight loss, I've only lost 22lbs so far and I'm a few days ahead of you, so you can be happy about that.

I know Im behind you a bit, but Im two weeks out and feeling very blah myself. I am going back to class tonight (wednesday) since I take night classes because Im simply bored with being at home. Im pretty sure I can handle it and I need a break from feeling weak and well..blah like u say.

Congrats on 25lbs. Im down 27 and I feel like a train hit me. No loss tho since thursday and I have had a rollercoaster of crap happening to me as you know. I am soooo proud of you and I do hope things get more active and lively for you. I think work will help you feel more normal since its your routine. Plus you are starting to feel good after losing that weight...let that be your happy thought! Again..Im proud of you..keep your chin up! Youre through the worst of it. Congrats chicka!

Topic: RE: Dr. Lautz - Consultation vs Actual Surgery Date

I had Dr. Lautz for my RNY in Sept '10 and I did not have to take any classes either.  Was that something his office required or something through your insurance?  I had my appointment June '10 and surgery was scheduled for 3 months later.  My surgery appt and all other tests and appointments were all made on that same day in June.

Best of luck with surgery.  I am going to be at Dr. Lautz office on 3/10 for my 6 month follow up.  I will be there for an appt around 10 am.  Email me on here if you want to and we can compare appointment times and perhaps I can answer some questions while we are sitting there waiting to be seen.

UPDATE:

So, I did the benedryl and the cortizone cream but nothing was changing much and since I really didnt wanna go to the ER I called Dr Benedetto's office and a nurse practicioner said she'd see me. I met with her and good news (sorta) ..It was just an allergic reaction to the surgical tape thats been on the wounds since I got out of surgery. Woots! She scrubbed most of it off and then is seeing me next week to make sure its clearing itself off. My job: keep up with benedryl and shower as many times as possible (or just wash my stomach alot) to dry out the tape and my skin so it can heal.

Thanks for the advice in the posts. I was freaking out. Now Im good. xoxo

Topic: RE: Finally told my boss
Congrats on your surgery.  As far as how much time you will need, everyone is different.  There are some people that had surgery and went back to work after 5 days, others like myself went back to work at 4 weeks.  I originally requested 2 weeks off and probably felt as though I could have gone back at 3.  My boss was the one that told me to go for 4 and feel fully recovered.  Glad I took the last week off as I was able to get into a good routine at that point with drinking, etc.

As far as reasons for your surgery it is a personal choice as to why you are out.  My office is small and they all know of my struggles with weight so I just told them.  If I was working somewhere else where I didn't know people as well I may have been private about my surgery.  That is my decision of what I wanted to share and it is up to you about how personal you are with your info.

Best of luck.

Topic: RE: Derailment by Stress...What a disaster!
It happens to all of us.  I went through the same thing recently and posted about it.  I told my family and friends that if they saw me about to make a bad food choice to call my attention to it and lovingly tell me not to do it.  To be honest with you the first few times I was like "um, ok enough already", but then something clicked and I realized that it was what I asked them to do.

For the past week or so I have been back on track and it paid off.  After a 4-5 week stall and stress eating, etc. the scale moved again.  You realized it, you acknowledged what you need to do, so do it!!

Best of luck.
