I am just starting this process and had some blood work done. Everything came back great, my cholesteral and blood sugar levels are perfectly normal. My liver enzymes came back elevated, they are sending me for more blood work. Has anyone had this problem and what was the outcome? Thank you, Amy

I rarely drink alcohol but had a few glasses of wine the night prior to blood work and I had my liver count come back elevated. I had to redo the blood work again and made sure I didn't drink any alcohol prior. You can always call your PCP and ask him his opinion. It never can hurt. Lorraine

Hi Amy....many obese people have a condition called fatty liver and that can definitely have an impact on LFT's (liver function tests). This is often the reason why a surgeon has someone be only on liquids before surgery to help to shrink the liver. Good luck to you.
