Day before Surgery

Not sure what to do........I am scheduled for surgery tomorrow and woke up this morning with a stuffy nose. Just clear but stuffy. Being a holiday in this state, I had to deal with the answering service. They told me that they couldn't page the doctor unless it was an emergency. What is considered an emergency the day before surgery ????? I just don't want to get there tomorrow and be told that they can't do it. I have also been on antibiotics for 6 days. Any ideas ???

Hello, if it is just a stuffy nose then try a decongestant, drink plenty of water and just if you can get some rest. A stuffy nose can just be an allergen, don't worry. If you get a fever then call the office back and tell them what is going on about having surgery, that it is an emergency and you need to speak to the doctor. I work for a doctor and the answering service has to page the doctor if you insist. If you need him then call him, don't worry. Good luck tomorrow!!!!! Amy
