Smoking

I have a friend who is scheduled for surgery in 2 weeks and though she has cut way back she hasnt fully quit, anyone else?

Does her Dr know she is smoking? I had to quit at least 2 months before. From everything I have read and heard all Dr's want you to quit at least a few weeks before. I have also heard they will call it off even if it's that day if they think you smoke. It was hard to give it up cold turkey but I did it because I know it can be risky to have surgery if I did not. Good luck to your freind. Please tell her she should stop now, it's for her own good. also, does she know that smoking after the surgery can cause real bad ulcers in her new stomach?
