I have been told that I need to lose at least 30lbs before surgery and I've heard of some "drinks" but have no idea what they are and where I can purchase them! HELP!!!! Thank! Debi

Deb, GNC sells a zero-carb ISOPURE drink in several flavors for about 2.50 a bottle. 20 oz and it has 40g protein. You may also try Carnation Instant breakfast as well. Good Luck on your journey.

Hi Debi, I used carnation instant breakfast--carb concious (fancy for no sugar added) and mixed with Simply Smart milk. Since I used a lot between pre and post I did order some via Carexpress.com---I have used them twice with great success. Some people recommend NOT stocking up on one item--because after surgery your tastes might change. You might also repost this on the main boards (rny or lap band) for those sites get more traffic and you'll get many more responses. Good luck for your upcoming surgery. Joan

I would reccomend going to GNC, there is one on Boston Road in Springfield. They are generally very informed employees there and can help you a lot! I hope this helps you, good luck with your surgery. Ellen

I see I am way behind on reading posts - but I was put on HMR prior to surgery - it is a hospital monitored liquid diet - 5 shakes a day - not too bad tasting either- ask your surgeon/dietician, etc. about it - it is pricey though and not covered by insurance - GOOD LUCK!
