After a frustrating three week long plateau, I lost six pounds this week making for a total of 53 lbs GONE!! I'm pre-op and I've been working with the medical/behaviorial track at Tufts-NEMC for the past five months, and I've just recently began to take serious steps toward surgery. I'm meeting with Dr. Tarnoff (surgeon) a week from tomorrow to discuss surgical options. I'm ecstatic!!

Wow! That's amazing! Are you still going to qualify for surgery with more loss? Dr. Tarnoff asked me to lose 10% pre-operatively, and I didn't. I lost just a few lbs... but still... that's amazing that you're making such strides... I still have a long way to go before I won't qualify for surgery --- I'm only 5'0 and 242.5 lbs (down from 295.5 lbs) so my BMI is 47.5. It's taken me awhile to decide that I want to pursue surgery, so I've been working on behavioral stuff in the meantime (which I know I'll need to do after surgery anyway). I go to group every week, so a major part of it is the pressure to weigh in! I think that surgery will offer me the best chance of losing the amount of weight I want to lose and keep it off, so I'm hoping that it'll be a safe choice for me. I'm hearing alot of great things about Dr. Tarnoff and I'm looking forward to meeting him. ~Jen
