Hello, considering having WLS and contacted Beth Israel. The nurse that I spoke to did not sound to promising about getting approval because of my low BMI, of course it is not low to me. Anyways, she sent me the paper work I filled it out, so I will just wait. Been overwieight for fifteen years, anyone have any similiar experiences or offer feedback. Something to give me hope in taking off this weight. Thanks, MIM

Marianne, the insurance will cover a BMI of 35 with co-morbid conditions. Sleep apnea, diabetes, high blood pressure, if you have any condition that threatens your health, this insurance should cover it, even at 36. Good Luck! Joe

I think you should go thru the process and see what happens. The doctors will do a lot of pulling for you in the end if they deem it necessary. You should start the program and deal with the insurance fight later. Best of luck. Dawn -117
