Seeing primary tonight
In two hours im going to my appointment with my primary. Ive still not decided how im going to approach her with this subject, I recall telling her several yrs ago that I had the bypass scheduled but backed out and she was not so agreeable as to my needing the surgery to begin with at my weight. I believe I fall just a few pounds under the normal criteria weight. I have medical issues that this surgery could help with so im hoping she is agreeable this time and Im not forced to find another primary. All i can do i suppose is approach her with this in a way that lets her know im educated about it, and prepared for this. Maybe then she will at least let the surgeon decide if I need it or not.

Kristen Thank You Jason and Erin for your input, and you are right, this shouldnt be about anything other than my health.
And she agreed!!** woohoo, Im so happy, I feel like im on the road to a better life. She was plesantly agreeable that with my current medical problems and potential medical problems that Im a good canidate.
Im off now to call the surgeon Oh happy day

Kristen Kristen, I agree with Jason. Just tell her how that this time you are prepared for the surgery. Tell her that you understand the risks involved and show her how educated you are now. She should give her professional opinion instead of letting her personal feelings get in the way. Tell her how your health issues will be relieved and probably will disappear by having the surgery. Knowledge is power. Throw her everything you know about the surgery and your co-morbids and she shouldn't refuse.
Again, she should give her professional opinion not personal opinion regarding YOUR health.
