waiting for a date!!

hi all, i had my last test on january 30th 2004, and i am currently waiting for my surgery date. i had my first appt. last year in july....i am excited but also getting nervous...looking for info on people that have had the full surgery, not a lap...and how it went for you..thanks for your help...

Hi Cynthia I had open RNY on 1/5/04. I can only tell you that I feel great. I did not have any problems at all. I only wish I had done it sooner!! Carolyn

Hi Cynthia! I had my Open Rny on 2/7/02 at Brigham & Womens in Boston (Dr Robinson). My starting weight was 248. I now weigh between 132 and 136...depending on the day. I am very happy that I did this. No regrets and if I had the decision to make all over again.....I would do it in a heartbeat. This is major surgery. It takes some time to recover, but I feel that it was worth the time and effort. Feel free to email me anytime with questions or just to chat.
