Dr. Hess no longer performing Lap surgies ???

Has anyone else heard this about Dr. Hess? We just heard last night that he can no longer perform laproscopic gastric bypass surgeries, and that they ALL have to be performed as open surgeries - seems insurance companies will no longer cover lap surgeries saying they are too experimental ???? Okay, I just Called Maria at Dr. Hess's office and asked her about it. She said this only applies to people with Blue Cross Blue Shield. They will no longer cover the Lap procedure. I'm clear to have Lap, Thank goodness, I really didn't want to have to go open if not necessary . Hope This Clears things up for all of you. Kelley
