Hi All, Does anyone have a suggestion to the protein supplement. I am hearing all kinds of things. Buy the expensive ones because they taste better. Don't buy they expensive ones because they are not worth it. Not sure where to begin on this stuff. Any help is appreciated. thanks

I got this link from one of the Yahoo groups I'm in: www.vitalady.com The woman that owns/runs the site is named Michelle, and she is 9 years post-op. She's a great resources and offers great products, specifically geared to WLS patients. I made the investment and ordered a ton of different protein shake samples. I'm keeping notes on which ones I like and which ones I can live without. I've also been told tastes change after surgery, so I won't buy anything in quantity til I've sampled it again. At any rate, I highly recommend purchasing samples through Vita Lady.

Are you pre op or post op? If you are pre op....don't buy to much of any one thing. I found that my tastes changed after surgery. I have used two ifferent shakes. One is by Scitec...Protein Delite. I found it at my local vitamin store. Lowcarb...low sugar....19-20 grams of protein depending on the flavor. The other on I use is Carb Solutions I get it at Wal Mart. It's not bad tasting and can be "doctored up" to improve flavor. Sometimes I put some Davinci sugar free syrup (white choc flavor) in it. There are a few good protein bars out there. I like Balance Gold (caramel nut blast.... didn't care for the other flavors). Atkins Advantage has a chocolate pnut butter flavor that is pretty good. Good luck. Kim O
