Is any else having this problem?

Had my surgery 7/21 and all has gone well up until yesterday. Have a constipation problem, which is extremely unusual for me. I eat a well balanced diet and lots of water (surprise!). My surgeon is on vacation this week so called the primary. Sent my husband out for Metamucil (yuk). Is this common? Hope not.

Hi Louise-Constipation is a very common problem post op. A good stool softener like colace should help. It is mild and shouldn't cause major problems. It's what my surgeon and nutritionist suggest. Good luck, hope everything clears for you real soon! Lynda ME/FL

Hi Louise, I know that this may be a little late, but if you are having diffulculty with constipation this is what I use. I have not had the surgery yet ,am stilll awaiting approval,but I have had constipation all my life. Try Flaxseed ground meal in cottage cheese or something else you might like. It has made all the difference with me. You can find it at any Nature Foods store or GNC stores. Good luck, Cathie
