I joined awhile back and introduced myself but have been overwhelmed by the process that I haven't been posting!  I just received a surgery date for next month, May 24th.  I'm excited and nervous so I figure I'm right on track!

Many posts ago I saw a mention of a south shore support group but couldn't find the info for it.  Does anyone know if that's an open group?  I would definitely be interested in something like that if it is.  Thanks!

Yes it is open. It is a great group that meets once a month in Bridgewater. The next meeting is April 25th I believe at 6:30. It is at a church that is on Route 104. I'm sure somebody will send a message with the church name. The people are really nice. Everyone participates and you learn a lot about what your going to go through and how to deal with different emotions. Also they share recipes and there favorite protein drinks and hints. They also get together at various charity walks. Fun group!

Hi,

I am part of the Bridgewater group but I don't see anything on the group's page for the meeting information. Can someone message me with information so I can attend? I live in Bridgewater, so I'm pretty excited something is actually right by me.

Thanks!!

Hi :)  Absolutely an open group!!!!

The next meeting is this coming Monday, April 25th at 630 pm! We meet inside the Faith Chapel Church on Rt. 104. It is between Star's Market and the police station in Bridgewater.  The physical address is 340 Pleasant St. We are a non-religious meeting, it is just a free spot to meet since Lisa owns the pre-school inside the church.  We have about 30+ people in our group and a good 20 or so attend each meeting.  Mostly women and about 5 or 6 brave men!  We are very laid back and talk about pretty much everything and anything!  The meeting usually last about an hour to an hour and a half .. some people leave early and there are a few of us stragglers who stay a little later LOL!  I consider these people great friends and I am so glad I started coming to this support group!  The majority of people have had RNY, a few with the lap-band and a few with the sleeve.  Pre and post op welcome!  Also, feel free to bring anyone with you that would like to attend (significant other, spouse, children etc.)  Our friends bring their 5yo daughter if you have any young children ... children are always welcome at our meeting!  We meet inside a preschool classroom so lots of stuff to keep them entertained!

Hope to see ya there Let me know if you have any other questions!
