I hate going to my surgeon. He always sticks me in the hospital. I think he's afraid of liability issues! My stomache is still sick. Constantly nauseaus, mild to moderate diarrhea, some vomiting. Want to throw up everytime I eat. Not tolerating food at all. I am stuck on  stage 3 soft foods, should be on stage 5 now. My daily diet consists of cream of wheat for breakfast, cheese stick for snack, yogurt for lunch and dinner. Approx. 35 grams of protein a day. Obviously not very adequate. Talked to nutritionist today and she desperately wants to see me tommorrow if possible. She is hoping she can squeeze me in between appts. The worst part is I can't supplement with protein shakes because I don't tolerate them so it's back to the nasty Isopure.

Hey...

Have you tries other forms or protien...I know whey is the Best but I know soy is relatively ok...Karrie is drinking spiratein...and you know how fussy she is...she actually tolerates it...
Have you tried a small amount of carbs with your protien...like even a saltine when you are nauseous???
Hope your felling better...
Keep on your doc and nutritionist
See you soon

Isopure is the only protein I have found without a milk base. It's like a juice drink that tastes like soap. I have to dilute it in something stong. What is spiratein?? Is it a liquid?? Without milk?? Is she only doing protein shakes or some food also?? The food is killing me but I have no problem staying hydrated. Does she still feel nauseaus? The nausea is horrible.

I had the nauseousness the first few weeks and no protein sources agreed with me.  Once I could eat yogurt, and cottage cheese and egg beaters and ate them slow I felt much better.  It's like a babies belly and takes some time for it to mature.  My doc & Nut said to make sure I was meeting my fluids goals, and work up to the 60 grms of protein a day as much as I could.  Eventually I could and now can tolerate protein shakes and bars fine when I need some extra protein.  Good luck, and do the best you can.  The Nut might have some other suggestions to help you too.

Ok I saw the doc and he was pathetic as usuall. did nothing to help me. told me to go see nutritionist. He did order a few labs. I think it made it him feel like he did something. He just kept repeating that everyone progresses at their own pace. Nothing about the ulcer or any suggestions. I explained to him that the two  disolvable pills he wants my other doc to get a PA for isn't going well. They keep denying them stating not enough supporting documentation. No dur he doesn't have supporting documentation, he's not the surgeon. He told me "I don't prescribe those medications, so it's his responsibility!!" How frustratrating!! I am taking too many pills, and they are upsetting my stomache so to get two of them disolvable would be great. My surgeon sucks. Haven't heard back from other doc yet. will call next week or maybe today but she is only in Tue and Wed. I did see the nutritionist who said "if that's all you can eat, just keep doing it." she did recommend I go back to the soapy tasting Isopure. I need a protin drink that is liquid with out a milk base. It is the only one I can find that I can get down if I dilute it. If my hair starts falling out due to lack of protein I am going to be very mad. No hair loss as of yet. How did everyone do with that? When did it start and how long did it last, and how bad was it??
