anyone here have UTI postop? Wondering about antibiotic absorption.

I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with UTI's postop?  I started an antibiotic Thursday and it's almost a week later and still feel crappy, usually I am feeling much better within a day.  So, I'm wondering if maybe I need a different kind of treatment, maybe these pills aren't even breaking down and/or absorbing?  I put a call into the surgeon's office to see what they think, waiting for a call back... I am in process of changing my PCP, kind of stinky timing.  So the Dr. who prescribed these to me Friday is no longer my dr and I don't get to "meet" my new one until July.
