A Year Later

So one year ago today I had my surgery.......

What has changed ??? So much but so little - lol - does that make sense ?

First and foremost - April 13, 2009 my weight was 263 lbs. and a BMI of 50.66 - Super Obese
                                    April 13, 2010 my weight is 154.8 and a BMI of 28.3 - Overweight
A loss of 108 lbs. and a BMI that changed 22 points !!

April 13, 2009 - was taking 2000 milligrams of Metaformin a day for    diabetes
April 13, 2010 - no medication for diabetes at all

                                     April 13, 2009 - wore a size 26/28 pants and a 2x-3xd shirt
                                     April 13, 2010 - wear a size 12 pants and a medium shirt

April 13, 2009 - lucky if I could walk 5 minutes without breathing heavy
April 13, 2010 - I have to take my 30 - 45 minute walk everyday - if I don't I feel ansy - AND even more amazing I'm enjoying it !!! And shhhh don't tell anyone - I actually feel like I'm moving to slow and need to speed it up - I'm having this weird desire to run - I'll admit - I have squelched it so far but nor sure how much longer that will work ......
April 13, 2009 - probably pretty close to my hightest weight - not highest but close
April 13, 2010 - my weight is the lowest it's been in 25 years !!!!

My life hasn't really changed a lot in a social way because I was pretty active and out there  before BUT I FEEL better and know that I'm healthier and isn't that what it is all about ?!?!?

One more very important change...... I have met and become friends with so many different people through this experience that I would probably NEVER have met without it - and feel immensely blessed to have them in my life - you have been a great source of support, comfort, joy, good advice and well just plain fun !!

Anyhow wishing all of you continued success on your journeys and much love and happiness !! Thanks for sharing in my journey the last year !
