Hi Kat!

How are you?  I too finished my Flinstones and started taking Centrum Chewables, they aren't bad.  My doc was Dr. Cohen at UMASS and he said it was fine for me to take a swallowable (<--is that a word) pill for calcium now, so after I finished my chewables which I hated also, I've been taking reg calcium pills.

 take care! ~ Mara

hey there - doing well.  so hard getting in all the fluids with it being so cold!  the protein is getting tough too.  i can't stand any protein supplements and there is only so much cottage cheese, eggs, milk a girla can take!

with the regular calcium, did you take it twice a day or once?  i was taking the caltrate twice a day.  i would rather just take one pill if i can.  i gagged on every flintstone vitamin!  as a kid i loved them!  for vitamins - are we allowed to take pills, or only chewables?  all my handouts only say chewable.  i will def try centrum chewables.

can't wait till the meeting on the 28th!

Hey K!
Call and ask Gloria.. I called her today about my Zantac b/c that is the only thing giving me nausea, the taste is disgusting when it's crushed.  She talked to someone (maybe Jenni?  Not sure) who called me back and told me it was now okay to take it cut in half instead of crushed.  So it's possible you may be able to take a pill now.. I think they do this b/c of the entrance/exit to/from our pouch is so small at first.

I do remember them saying 2xday for the calcium, but maybe that would change in time, too, not sure.

I've been taking a CVS brand chewable calcium and a cvs brand chewable multivit and I look forward to both of them everyday.  It's the only "food" I get right now and they are yummy. lol  My B12 is also pretty good.  ;-)  I take Nature's Valley.  Even the Vitron C I don't mind crushed.  For me, it's just that Zantac.  ICK!  If you want, I can bring a couple to you at the next meeting so you can try them and see if you like em before you buy them.  I know that's a lapse in your meds though.. let me know if you want me to bring some for you to try.

Kat,  I would consult the doc like your gonna anyhow but the only chewable I take is the multi, and yes I take the calcium pill 2X a day (most days!) unless I forget the 2nd one and it's too close to taking vitron C time!

I won't be at the mtg 1/28, my husband and I are going to see Jeff Dunham in Providence, I can't wait!!! Do you know who he is?  He's a comedian that has these funny puppets like Peanut and Walter...funny, funny, funny!!!  I will see you next month though!

I know what you mean about the protein.  I still get nautious from shakes, so I am constantly trying new protein foods and bars.  The doc said as long as I am getting enough from food, then it is ok not to choke down those shakes and feel sick!  Maybe I will try to revisit them later on again -- we'll see.

I take chewables because I'm a big baby and hate swallowing pills LOL! The Centrum Chewables aren't that bad. I have found calcium gummies at certain stores. I found them once at Target and another time at Hannaford.
