lost a pound! - word of caution

I've been sitting at 152 for over a month now.  Heck, I even gained and lost 3 lbs somewhere in there.  I've been trying to maintain...sorta.  I want to get to 150 - for no good reason other than it's a nice round number that I made my goal.  I was happy at 152, sizewise, and most certainly health-wise, but part of me really wanted to see the "goal" of 150 reached.  One tiny step closer today!!!

If you are anything like me, you might start to get very competitive with yourself.  We set these mini goals along the way - to keep us motivated - but be wary!  We set them only to achieve them and make a new one!  Prepare yourself for needing to set goals that have nothing to do with the scale.  I'm working on my body fat percentage - I want to lower that.  I set nutrition goals since I really hate fruits and veggies - but need to find ways to incorporate them into my diet.  I've got to make it less about the changes on the scale because there is only so much weight i can lose!

I realize this message is contradicting itself.  I'm excited about my 1 lb loss, and in the next breath saying don't get addicted to the scale.  I am conflicted, and I'm trying to keep my head on straight.  It's hard!!!!  I wish I'd started thinking about the end of the weightloss a lot earlier - but no one wants to think about that, it's such a rush - but it's really WORTH IT to plan for it - because no weight loss is going to be the REST OF YOUR LIFE!  The life we had our surgeries to keep.

I hear ya- if it's any help, listen to what you are telling yourself about getting too competitive.
I got way below goal in April, I got to 152. I was also completely obsessed with a number, that # was 145. I'm talking OBSESSED.
Mmm... k... I'm just about 6 feet tall, at that 152 I was wearing a size 4 & that was pretty loose, I could fit into a 26 jean. I'm not bragging here at all, but when I had my 'after' picture taken in our docs office at a year out, I looked a little like a big head on a teeny body. Reality: I shouldn't be 145 pounds.

Over this past summer my body leveled out at 165lbs. It was very, very difficult for me to accept the 13 lb regain at first. Really difficult. I'm over it. I've settled into a size 6-8, the color is back in my face. Other upside to regain- I definitely do not need plastics of any kind, and the 'girls' totally came back.
I look little in pictures NOW, and when I see pictures from this spring it's slightly scary.

I weigh myself 1-2 times a week now, I fluctuate in a 3lb zone, depending on the TOM, exercise every day & follow the rules (for the most part). It's tough when you get to the end of the weight loss. You'll get through it

I play total head games with myself.  I set little goals for EVERYTHING! Taking my vitamins, exercise, weigh****er, protein, times on the treadmill or outside running. I reward myself for mini-goals, like last week I went and ran my 5k loop three times so I downloaded a Pearl Jam bootleg!
