Hi Lisa:

One more thing, I should have put this in my earlier post.  You seem to have had a great experience and your accomplishment so far is fantastic.  Would love any tips you may have especially the 1st 2 weeks post op.  Thank you so much

Hi:

First let me say thanks for requesting me as your friend, could use many on here, lol.

Secondly, congratulations on your surgery.  How have you done?  And yes we have the same surgeon.  I went to my first session in August as well, I wonder if we were at the same one, lol.  Hope everything is going well for you and best of luck on your new life!

I did it online, and they actually waived my need to go to a second one.  I was actually schedule to have RNY in January 2008 at Faulkner Hospital with Dr. Mun, I went in for the surgery, they knocked me out, put the cameras in and discovered I was 6 months pregnant!  I had no idea, no symptoms, NOTHING (I have PSOC so I don't have a normal cycle anyways) so obviously they aborted my surgery, then Dr. Mun left the practice and I went to BI....so since I went through the whole thing, they let me skip the info session!  I actually liked the BI program so much better, all my prerequisite labs and testing were done in conjunction with other appointments so I only had to go there twice before meeting the surgeon.  I've been doing great, trying to get all the liquid and protein in is the hardest part, sometimes I find myself just eating cheese to get that last 7 grams in!!!  Once I submitted the form it was like 2 weeks until they called me back, I remember calling them because I had faxed the form and I was nervous that it hadn't arrived, and she told me (Amanda) that it took 2-3 weeks for them to call back after receiving the forms.  Hope that helps!

This has seriously changed my life, I'm down 40 pounds in a month and 3 pants sizes, and I just feel so much better.  Good luck in your journey!

That is so awesome.  So glad you are doing well.  I too have battled with PCOS.  My second child who is 11 and i had her when my 1st child was 9 years old.  We don't know how she came about, so to speak, I do not ovulate and have had many tries on meds to get pregnant and resulted in miscarriages, but the best things in life are surprises.   I too had a great experience with BIDMC.  Went to my first meeting in August and I am having surgery December 28, I picked this date for my convenience probably could have had it a little sooner.  Yes there were great and piggybacking appointments helped tremendously.  I would highly recommend them to everyone.

Keep up the great work!
