A bit concerned... Did this happen to you?

So, I'm only five months out, and this past two weeks my weight has been bouncing up and down.

Now, yes, it's going between about 185 and 188, and I guess a three-pound fluctuation in a day is SUPPOSED to be normal for a normal person, but is it normal for us gastric bypass patients too? Even after a meal my weight wasn't usually fluctuating until this month, because I ate so little.

So, just wondering if my bouncing weight actually IS normal now.

Yup, normal.  Pretty much anything is normal at this point, as long as you are following your diet.

I only count the times I weight myself on Monday morning, post-potty, pre-shower, pre-breakfast.  If I step on the scale Monday night or Thursday morning, I expect to see something entirely different than Monday mornings.   Doesn't matter what day/time you pick, but just make it something reliable.  Others will tell you to toss your scale.

If a month or two go by and the scale is still stuck in that range, you might want to talk to your surgeon or nutritionist - you may need to increase calories and/or water.

Best,
Sue

I notice it only happens to me around my period. It goes up and down for 2 weeks usually, like the same 2-4 pounds. I gave up weighing myself around that time. I'm already b*tchy ...don't need the added stress of the scale giving me false info LOL!
