Surgery

HI all,

I haven't posted in a while. Things have been crazy lately.  Everything RNY related is going well.
I'm down 92 lbs and feel great!

Tomorrow I will be having a tumor removed from my spine.  They found it incidentally when they found the ulcer.  I had an MRI of my liver, at first they thought I had a common bile duct stone since I had so much pain in the liver area.  I saw the neurosurgeon and was told it was a benign cyst.  The doc said to have a 3 month follow up with an MRI etc.  So I went in July for the follow up
and he was able to tell it was a tumor because it  has grown.  Since then I've been a wreck. The good thing is it has not spread, so the doc suspects it is probably benign.  I won't know for sure until it's examined by pathology.  I'm so lucky they found it now because I have not had any symptoms. I've always had back pain, less now that I've lost alot of weight.  I'm staying postive and praying for a quick recovery.

Needless to say I'm terrified. Since I've been so stressed I've had almost no appetite.  I've had to force myself to eat, which is something I've never had to do before.  Prior to RNY, I used to eat
when I was stressed.  It's just funny how things change.  I've been getting in my protein and fluids, not many fruits and veggies.  I'm dreading hospital food, it is gross.  I'm bringing my Kashi protein bars and other snacks with me.

I will post again as soon as I'm up and about!

Sue!

I'm sorry to hear about your surgery, but I'm glad it's early.  I certainly hope everything turns out ok and that  your tumor is benign.  My mom has been living with a benign brain tumor for the last 6 years!

I'm here if you need ANYTHING!

love,

UPDATE:

surgery went well, they were able to get all of the tumor out.  and it was BENIGN!
