This heat and humidity all weekend have been awful for me recovering from surgery. I have nausea all the time. I struggle to drink what I am supposed to as I feel like I could vomit all the time.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Please oh please? Thank you.
Robyn

Hi - sorry to hear that youre nauseous.   Hopefully this will pass soon.  The first week-2 are the hardest, and the weather doesn't help.       It's been a year for me, so i can't recommend anything to help you with post-surgery, I'm sorry.  but wanted to wish you the best, and to give you encouragement - I started at 260, and am now 155 one year out.    Keep positive!

oh Robyn,

I'm sorry you are having a tough time. This is the time to figure out what works for you. I had a terrible time with water. My surgeon explained tha****er isn't very slipper. I ended up using the 4C packets - like the Crystal Light ones - but they have splenda instead of nutrasweet. I like the berry-pomegranate flavor best.

Figure out if you do better with warm or cold liquids. Make smotthies in a blender. You can add warm liquids - up to 130 degrees to protein powdet.

good luck,

Jayne

I do have a suggestion.  Try some liquid other than water.  Water is actually heavier on your stomach than say sugar free crystal lite.  Plain water makes me nauseous, but other liquids DONT, and if you are dehydrated, that too can make you nauseous.

Try sucking on some sugar free popsicles too.  You have to get in the liquid or you will be back to the hospital.

Dont worry about protein intake at this point...focus only on the liquids and hydration until you feel better.  Get the liquid in and I am sure you will feel better.

Good Luck

My surgeon had given me a prescription for small pills to help with the nausea so I could help get my liquids in.  I also found the Diet Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate sits better than cold liquids.  I was told the HC goes towards my water intake.  When I drink water with flavoring I also like it to be room temprature.  Cold drinks don't sit well with me even almost 4 years out. Good Luck.

I suffered with nausea too. I don't know why but  sugar free werthers candies did the trick for me.  I hope you can find something that works for you.
