I have lost 10 pounds since July 6th.  I consider that a successful beginning.  Some of it is the diet, some of it is the walking.  I am thinking about buying a treadmill for the rainy days and for the days when I get home too late to go for a walk around the neighborhood.   I am just not a gym person.
I am feeling better than I have felt for quite awhile.  I think it is due to the fact that I have put myself back on the top of the priority list.  Self-neglect is not a good thing at all.
