Is This Normal

I am six weeks post op and feel like **** I am happy with the amount of weight I have lost so far (38 Pounds) but ever since I started taking my vitamins it is so hard for me to hold anything down that I don't feel like eating anything and I am always sick to my stomach. My shakes feel like they are sitting in my stomach like a ball of flem (I tried many different ones) and I feel like somebody kicked me in the ribs a million and one times. The last time I saw the doctor he said everything looked good and I was healing great, but I don't feel like I am.

Can somebody tell me if this is just normal healing?

How are you liking Dr. Schneider ? I had him too !
I have to be honest - when I take the vitamins I often feel like they are filling me up and I can't anything more !! I can't do the protien shakes - unable to find one I could tolerate - I do sugar free carnation instant breakfast mix with 2 scoops of benaprotien ! Sometimes after drinking that I feel like crap ! just to full ! So I think it might be normal - one of those things that I think will get better as we go.

Good luck !!

Hi Lisa,

I like Dr. Schneider he seems very soft, gentle and understanding, I also like how informative he is. I didn't like that I only saw him one time while I was in the hospital but if I call and need to see him he will either tell me to come right in or I might have to wait a day.

To tell you the truth I didn't like the hospital stay at all. I was very upset that there were all students attending to me without my permission and there was a student in the O.R. stitching me without me knowing it.

But I am glad it is all over and done with. Maybe somewhere down the road I will be able to eat something without getting sick.

Thanks for responding and Good Luck to you as well.

Lisa,

Have you tried different vitamins? Are they chewable? Perhaps if you spread them out a bit more throughout the day. Nibble on a quarter of a vitamin at a time.

I had problems drinking water. It just didn't feel right. I learned to add stuff to it. My doctor said tha****er is just not very slippery. A couple months down the line I got an achy feeling down near where my gall bladder used to be. the doctor suspected a marginal ulcer and sent me to the gastroenterologist. That's what it was. Once I was treated for it, things went much better.

I try and take my vitamins with a full stomach. I had read online somewhere that is the best time to do it.

Hi Lisa!

First of all, CONGRATS on the weight loss, that is very exciting! I am only 2 week post-op, but feel exactly the way you described your stomach above! I'ts like I dont know what I'm feeling... Do I have to poop? Do my incecisions hurt? Do I have gas? Am I hungry? Am I full? It's just all the same feeling to me. I too cant wait for it to pass, it's horrible especially working all day with it. Hopefully someone on here can give us some advice! Just know I'm right there with you!

Hi JC,

Thank you so much for the congrats.... I found something that works. I started taking Pepcid AC EZ Chews and what a difference. All the pain in my ribs and the pit of my stomach is gone. I also changed all my vitamins to liquid and changed my shakes to water base and stay away from milk products. I feel so much better since I have made these changes that I was able to spend this whole past weekend at Six Flags with no problems at all.

So I think it was a combo between milk and acid reflux. Try the Pepcid AC and see if that works for you. It worked the first day I took it.

Let me know if you try it and if it worked for you.

Lisa!

It's so funny you mention the pepcid because I took it for the first time this weekend and praise Jesus it has helped me so much!!!! That's so great that you were able to spend the whole day at six **** without any problems. What a relief huh! Pepcid is the best thing in the world right now. I made the mistake of having a broccoli cheddar soup for lunch today and my new baby pouch did not like that! BUT other than that incident the pepcid has really been helping me as well! So glad we found it!!!!
