Gained some weight...

Yes you read that right.  I've gained some weight.  All my own doing too.  I can eat sugar...so I do.  I can eat carbs...so I do.  I can drink alcohol...so I do.  I stopped working out.

Before it spirals out of control I need to do something.  The gym is not possible right now.  I don't have time in my schedule since my husband's accident.  I can cut out the sugar and I really should since it makes me very tired.  I know I need to take my vitamins, but I don't.  I do protein first because of the hypoglycemia which I seem to have under control.  I know for sure that I do not drink enough.  Never have, probably never will.  I always mistake thirst for hunger.

What I need is a swift kick in the @$$.  I know what I need to do, I'm just choosing not to.

OK - you've done the hard part - you've admitted to all of us you done not so well.

I know how you don't love water, so you need to stock up on some crystal lite or whatever will make you drink.  when i think i'm hungry and yet the clock doesn't say it's time to eat, I drink.  And i refuse to drink anything with calories that isn't protein....it's one of the biggest things Americans do - drinking calories like alcohol, soda, "juice".

Go back to basics, try to kill the urge to carb and sugar.

This was Tuesdays topic at our post op group and the whole point was "just because you can eat it ..doesn't mean you should". Sounds like you need to get yourself back to the basics! Go back to what you were eating 6 months out ...maybe not portion wise, but food wise.

I hope you get it all figured out!! It's great that you were able to admit it! Good luck to you.

I would check in with your nutritionist and try and attend some post op meetings.  Are you keeping a food journal? Sometimes writing it down makes it more real.

Good Luck getting back on track and I am sure its just a temporary bump in the road.

Bend over baby!    Sounds like you have a lot going on right now.  Don't be too hard on yourself.  You have acknoledged it and now you can do something about it.  At the minimum...start by taking your vit EVERYDAY!  You will get back on track!
