My drain came out of the right side of my abdomen, the width of the tube was somewhere between a coffee stirrer and a drinking straw.
When they take it out it is a very unusual feeling because you can feel the tube moving quickly through your insides. Then they sew you up.
You can expect a little bit of discomfort, people scared me ahead of time & said it was the "worst pain they ever felt." At least for me -it was not AT ALL.
It's weird but not bad.

My drain came out about a week after surgery.  I don't remeber it feeling anyway.  Dr. just pulled it out and taped it up.  It was more troublesome having to take the tape off!  So no worries!

Mine felt strange, but not painful.  imagine a piece of spaghetti being pulled under your skin.  The PA that did it distracted me with conversation while doing it, so I really hardly noticed it.

I like Shannon, but I had Jenny.

I wasn't put on any special diet. I just lowered my calories and ate stuff as if I already had surgery like sugar free, fat free, and so on. I tried to eat every 4 hours too ..and definitely keep a journal like they advise, it helps!
