 Good morning,

I am currently being seen at Tufts Medical Center. I have gone through the "Immersion Program" met with the surgeon and only have 2 other appointments left. I know that my doctor was going to discuss my case last Wed.  Does anyone know how long after you are brought up to the group you get information as to your surgery date, insurance info etc...(I have BCBS)? As you all know, I am going crazy just waiting! I can't wait! I have started the beginning of my journey and  looking forward to moving ahead.
This board has been very helpful-- inspiration and motivation--just what I need!

It took me two weeks to get approval from BCBS.  I didn't go through Tufts though.  Good luck to you.  It will happen.  It seems to take forever but it is all worth the wait to lose the weight!

I had my surgery at Tufts with Dr. Tarnoff, but I also know Dr. Kim very well and the surgeons are amazing. From my first appointment to my surgery was about 4 months, but I really fast tracked it by making dual appointments on the same day, etc. I think from my last small group meeting to finiding out my surgery date was about a month and then surgery was a month later. Best of luck!

Back on track as of 11/1/2014

Hi -- Just dropping by to say that I'm also involved in the Tufts program.  I had a back emergency and had to cancel 3 appointments.  They're doing all they can to get me back on track and from what I understand the surgery dates come up fast after you've completed the pre-op visits.

The program is fanstastic and I'd love to hear more experiences.  I'm waffling between Drs Tarnoff and Shikora!

Hi!  I am going through the Tufts program also.  It has taken me abouts 6 months to complete everything.  I had my surgeons appt. the  beginning of April and got my date about a week later.  I go in for surgery this Wednesday, May 13!  I am having Dr. Shikora.  I am very confident  and comfortable with him.  though I know ALL the bariatric surgeons at Tufts are great.  best of luck to you on your journey

Hi:

i'm going through Tufts.  My immersion day is june 16, 2009.

Have you gone to any local WLS support groups?

I know Tufts has one monthly (HOWL) on Monday nights but I'm unable to attend.

Good luck!
