I have been obese (or morbidly obese) my entire adult life.  I am turning 35 in 1 week, and today I am OVERWEIGHT.  I wear a size Large.

I feel like losing more than this would be greedy.  Hell, I'm gonna keep going anyway!!!

This can happen to you!!!  It's happened to many of you already - thank you for all your support and showing me the way.

Every day is a celebration post-RNY.

A few weeks ago the BMI chart said I was "normal" LOL! Who knew I'd be in size 8 shorts this summer. I wasn't expecting it.

You are right. Every day IS a celebration after RNY

hi Sue,

We have a Wii Fit. Every day when you do a body measurement, it tells you if you are obese or overweight. I'm sure it gives you other comments, but those are the ones I have experienced. I remember the day that I went from "that's obese" to "that's overweight". I was so excited. My husband told his officemate (who also has a Wii Fit). She was thrilled to hear the news. Someone else in the office thought it was appalling that the Wii Fit said that I was overweight.

I share in your joy - overweight is Wonderful!!!!!

Congratulations!  I had my surgery on 4/14 and can only hope to be as successful as you have been.  I read your postings all the time!!!  Thanks for the inspiration!

The reason I post is because I was so excited and inspired by those who went before me, so I hope that my successes fuel others to fight the good fight.  I truly believe that those of us who stay on the message boards and attend support group meetings will be the most successful because we are the ones we don't forget where we came from and find reassurance when the cookie monster is calling us.

Keep up your hard work!

Congratulations Sue!!  You know... this sounds like one of those ways you can tell you've had weight loss surgery... You're happy to be considered "overweight"!!

Ahhh, I look forward to the day!!

Not sure if you heard or not, but I developed a stricture and still can't eat anything.  I've been on liquids for 13 weeks now.

I think that has helped me along in my weight loss, but I do miss "chewing" and I've had enough of vomitting, but I still don't regret a second.

I go in again on Friday to have my stricture dialated for a second time.  The first time they stretched it from 7mm to 10mm.  A normal is 15mm.

Hopefully I'll be able to chew this weekend.  I'll keep you posted.
