LapBand Southcoast Group

I am considering the LapBand, versus RNY. I would completely rather have a "foreign" object than re-routing all my insides. I understand folks think the LB is an easier way to cheat- that is not my approach. I am assigned to Dr. Streeter at Tobey Hospital and will have my first appointment in the process later this month. My biggest concern is quitting smoking prior to the procedure, and missing too much work. I estimate a week away from work.   If anyone has any comments, suggestions I welcome them.

What have you decided? I'm living on the Cape, still not sure about any of it, but have an appt. at the end of the week w/Dr. Streeter.

I'm assuming quitting smoking will be hard as it was when I did a few months ago! Use the patch and you'll get through it.

I also have an appointment with Dr. Streeter. I have quit smoking, with the help of Chantix...it works pretty good.  Good luck, let's keep in touch.
