did you mean the other surgeon, Dr. Birch? or the internist that works with Dr. Hess named, Dr. Baranov?

Dr. Baranov is the one who came to check in on me at the hospital...I didn't see Dr. Hess until my follow up appointment about 10 days later.

I am returning to Dr Burch on Monday to discuss a RNY revision.  I met Dr Barinov also and I liked both Dr's very much.  Very personable and informative.  I didn't meet Dr Hess but the funny thing was I overheard him talking in the x ray dept to the x ray staff about a patient .  He was trying to expidite some testing due to some sort of special cir****tance the patient had.  He breached no confidence that I heard,  it was his manner of talking to the x ray staff and how he acted as an advocate for his patient.  I WAS IMPRESSED.   I have worked in the OR, ED, PACU  and plain old MS for over 25 years as a nurse and have experienced 1st hand how abusive some Drs are with subordinates.  Dr Hess gained my respect in that one brief interlude.  I can say with no reservation I liked that Dr Hess    

I agree...about 2 months after surgery, i met with him and he asked me about any problems...so i said only one ( I have this aggravating burping going on all the time) so anyway, before I even began to vocalize my problem, he burst out saying " I can fix it "  He already had me won before this, but in that instant I realized that this man was willing to do anything to make me happy/comfortable.  He really is a godsend.
