Have u encounter any form of harrassment at work

Has anyone experienced a hard time with employers when you need to call out sick due to the dumping syndrome, vomiting within one year post-op?  Has anyone been suspended because of it?

no, but it can't be legal

LOL you have not experienced it yet cuz you haven't had your surgery yet.  Is say you will have it next year.

No...Why don't you just tell them you had food poisoning or a stomach bug?  They don't need to know you're dumping in my opinion....

Yes I got suspended for the first time in 17 years.  I have no sick time left and I used my 5 weeks vacation for recovery after surgery.  I brought a doctor's note every time I am out sick.  So even with a doctor's note I got suspended. I am in the union and have filed a grievance Dec 2nd is my hearing.  I wanted to know if the symptoms would qualify as a temporary disability during your first year of having major surgery.

I am so sorry.  I know they classify obesity as a disease/disability, I wonder if you can object on grounds of that. i hope the union lawyer is up on obestiy issues.

Do you have FMLA?  Everyone should apply for that for "just in case" right after surgery.  it protects you so you can't lose your job if you are out for the reason you got approved for FMLA for.
