What a difference a year makes!

Oh how time flies!

This past year has been such a whirlwind….Even though I have been in the stall of all stalls, I have decided not to focus on the things that I haven’t accomplished, like meeting goal or losing 100lbs.  Today, instead, here on my one year surgiversary, I am going to focus on the positives.

What I have lost:

·          Depending on the day, between 85-88lbs.

·          Down from a size 22/24 shirt to a medium (unisex) or a large/XL in misses.

·          Down from a size 20 pants to a 10/12 depending on the brand.

·          Not sure if this is good or not, but down from a size 9 shoe to an 8!

·          I no longer beat myself up over stalls, gains or miscues.

What I have gained:

·          The confidence to stand up for myself.

·          A more positive outlook on life.

·          The ability to help others help themselves.

·          I have muscles!  (Well, I always had them, but now they’re visible!)

·          MOST IMPORTANTLY-I have allowed myself to be loved (by someone other than my family) for the first time in my life.

·          To finally love myself no matter what!

Today I’m celebrating my surgiversary by hopping on a plane to go to San Diego to speak at a conference.  I’ll be sporting my cute new professional outfit and speaking with all the confidence in the world!  Thanks to all my MA and OH friends in general!

Jenn,
what you gained is worth so much more than what you lost - it will last a lifetime!!!!  (Not knocking what you've lost - it's amazing too!)   i'm celebrating your surgiversary as my 1 week surgiversary, and it's an honor to know you and have been a little part of your journey!

knock their socks off in San Diego!

oh Jenn,

What a journey you have had! Good luck in San Diego - hopefully you will have some time to explore the city. I lived there for a couple of years in the 70's.

Ditto to everything Sue said!
